Surprisingly simple details make this shirt as elegant as it is comfy. The dolman-sleeved version of our Impressionist Skies Top sold out in a flash, but fortunately the designer had more of this gorgeous print in a similar silhouette.
The swingier, slightly A-line cut still adds a bit of drape, a bit of breathing room, and a bit more canvas to showcase painterly swirls inspired by Van Gogh’s night skies. The fabric is a lightweight, supersoft brushed knit that flows comfortably around the waist and hips. A touch of spandex helps it keep its shape all day and through a lifetime of wash cycles. Plus it features one always-handy front pocket with a button detail.
At 5’7”, I chose a size medium. Due to the swingy style or my preference, I’m returning it for a small. And I received an email telling me it was available- love that option.
This top is a little short for my taste, and has a totally unnecessary pocket with a huge button that looks like it has been run over by a car, but the fabric and colors are beautiful. Even with the pocket, which is never a good fashion feature for plus-size women who wear tunics to cover up certain flaws, I got compliments when I wore the top. It is a bit too heavy for warmer weather, but is perfect for transitional and even winter wear. I thought the rough edges on the bottom hem were strange too, but I guess this is part of the move towards a more hand-made quality to fashion. I am sure I will wear this top again when the weather cools off once more.
Love the top...just wish it could be a bit longer. Hits at odd place near hips.
