What enchanted garden is complete without a gnome? This durable and delightful birdhouse is handcrafted from sheep’s-wool in a fair trade studio in Nepal. The material is naturally water resistant, and a clean-out door underneath makes it easy to remove old nesting material. A 1-1/4" diameter opening is ideal for tiny birds like wrens and nuthatches. Of course, this wee wizard is just as charming as indoor décor for any fairytale castle.

The birdhouse will last forever if used as indoor decoration, or when hung in a protected outdoor area such a porch (which is where wrens prefer to nest). If placed in direct sun, colors will begin to fade within a month as with any dyed fabric, but the opening and body will keep its shape for years even in the harshest weather.
The sheep’s-wool body is naturally water repellent. Moisture from dew, rain or snow quickly dries in the open air. Wool is also naturally dirt and mold resistant. Generally, a good brushing is all that's needed to spruce it up. To remove stains, work the spot with mild soapy water, then rinse and air dry. A clean-out door at the bottom lets you remove old nesting materials. Do not place in washing machine or dryer.
This is such a sweet and we'll made bird house. My sister collects gnomes and will just love this gift.
It was a gift to someone. I know they thought it was very cute but living in snow county they will keep it inside until spring. We will find out then if it USA functioning birdhouse.
I have not seen it “in person”, but it was the perfect gift for my friend who collects Swedish gnomes and has a large back yard. She was delighted and said it was “like a piece of art”. Many thanks!
